Blackboard Appointment Scheduler
Go to Navigation

The Calendar Appointment Scheduler allows students to sign up for a particular date/time that has been set by an instructor or TA. The instructor and TA have separate calendars. Once a student reserves a time, the instructor or TA and the student will receive an email stating the date, time, and any comments the student has entered. The following tutorial will guide you through the process of using the CAS.

This tutorial assumes that you have a Blackboard course for a class or organization at the University of Texas at Austin. The tutorial begins on the home page of your course or organization. If this is your first time using Blackboard, we recommend that you visit our tutorials before proceeding.

Instructors/TAs

1. From the course home page, click on the Tools link in the left hand navigation menu.

2. Select Schedule an Appointment from the list of tools available.

3. If this is your first time accessing the CAS, a pop up window will ask you to set your available hours. Click OK.

4. Set the available days/times and Other Information section (optional) and click Submit. Note: These times will be recurring each week unless removed or updated.

5. Click OK.

At this point your calendar will appear blank. Once your students schedule appointments, you will see their names listed on the calendar. You can click on the link for a student's appointment if you need to reschedule or remove it. Note: Both you and the student will receive an email message with the updated date and time.
