What should I do when I get an error telling me to contact my System Administrator?
If you receive this error while working in Blackboard, you should first check to see if the action you were attempting was successful. You can do this by using the bread crumb navigation links provided at the top of the page to return to the control panel and re-enter section you were working in.
If the action was unsuccessful, please attempt the process again before contacting the Help Desk at 475-9400.
Why do I get an error message when I modify an added item?
You must complete the process of adding an item to your course content to be able to edit its information. If instead, you attempt to use your browser's back button to go back to the add item interface after reaching the receipt page, you will receive the following error:
Trying to get, _PK1_PK2 from DB failed for user/local/
These added changes will not be recognized by the system. The item will appear as originally submitted. When you reach the receipt page, you should instead click the OK button on the right of the screen. Then click the Modify button for the appropriate item.
If you do make this mistake and receive the above error, return to the add item page by using the back button twice or use the My Blackboard tab to return to your course.
Please contact the ITS Help Desk by calling 475 - 9400 or by submitting a help request at http://www.utexas.edu/its/help/blackboard/.
