How do I view course material?
When instructors upload files or attachments to their Blackboard course site, you have the opportunity to download these files for later viewing on your computer.
Some files may require special software tools to be able to read or open them. This process can sometimes include converting a file or "unzipping" a compressed file. Links to many software tools, such as viewers, converters, filters, and zip utilities are available from our suggested plug-ins page.
If you would like to view the file outside of the browser or at a later time, you can download the file using the methods below. Similar processes can be used to download images and other items also, although the applications may vary.
-
If your browser opens the document in another program automatically, open the File menu, select Save As... and select a location where you want to save the file.
-
If you are using a Windows machine, right-click on the item link and in the menu that appears, select Save Target As... or Save Link as... Windows will determine what type of file it is, and you can select a location in which to save the file.
-
If you are using a Macintosh, simply click and hold or ctrl+click on the item link and in the menu that appears, select Save Link As... to download it. You will be prompted for a location.
