Tips

Self-directed learning increases learner control and promotes student planning, managing, and organizing course materials (Brockett & Hiemstra, 1991; Candy, 1991; Caffarella, 1993).

  • Posting various resources in document function promotes self-directed learning.

  • By posting assignments, the instructor doesn’t have to spend a lot of class time going over assignments.

  • Examples, writing tips, how to budget time can be posted as resources for students.
