Tips

  • The shared learning in discussion gives students an opportunity to reflect on their thinking, take responsibility for their own learning, and thus become critical thinkers (Totten, Sills, Digby, & Russ, 1991).

  • By critically reviewing what other students are posting on discussion board, students achieve higher levels of thought and retain information longer (Johnson & Johnson, 1986).
