Uploading your Gradebook
blackboard > tutorials > uploading your gradebook
In Blackboard, the grade book for each course can be downloaded, edited in a spreadsheet program, and uploaded with the new information. Note: For best results, Instructors should manipulate and upload a Gradebook that has been downloaded from the Blackboard Learning System. It is not advised that Instructors create a new Gradebook from scratch then upload it. You can find the tutorial for downloading a Blackboard Gradebook here.
After downloading a grade book file, open Microsoft Excel or a similar spreadsheet program, and go to the file menu. Select Open and locate the directory where the file is saved then click the Open button. Note: The file is named "gb_export.csv" by default. Make any changes to your spreadsheet then save the file and close it.
In this tutorial you will learn how to navigate to the Gradebook, and how to upload a spreadsheet once it has been edited.
3. On the Upload Gradebook page, in the Choose File section, click the Browse button.
4. In the File Upload dialogue box select your grade book file, and click the Open button. Then click the Submit button.
5. In the Choose Imported Item section on the Choose Column to Import page, click on the radio button to the left to choose the item you wish to upload from the file.
6. In the Choose Existing Item section, choose the destination column for the uploaded data, or select Create New Gradebook Item if you want the data to appear as a new grade book item. Then click the Submit button.
