Java 3D Simplex Tutorial

Project Description:
This project will allow students to explore the simplex algorithm, one of the most important topics in linear programming. Students will be able to observe the geometry of this hightly theoretical algorithm by running a step-by-step 3-D interactive animated simulation. A tutorial will be provided to help students understand the mechanics of the algorithm without being burdened by the computationally intense manipulations. Several variations of the algorithm will be presented so students may compare and constrast the efficiency and accuracy of each. Because this algorithm is basic to all operations research curriculums, the software has a wide audience for its population, both at the University of Texas and at other universities’ graduate and undergraduate operations research courses.
