Journalism Department Student Work Web Development Project

Project Description:
This ~FAST Tex team developed a Web site to showcase student work created through courses in the Department of Journalism. The goal was to create a site that more closely mimics the design of news sites currently on the Web, rather than simply list student work. Starting with work from students in one writing course, the intention is to add student work from other writing and reporting courses as well as work from the department's broadcast and photography courses. The site, in the form of a weblog, is interactive and dynamic, and includes a place for visitors to post comments and answer surveys and polls. It also includes a link library that points visitors to additional related sites. By offering students the opportunity to publish their work, this Web site offers students extra incentive for completing the best product possible.

This project was developed collaboratively with the College of Communications Instructional Design Group and piggy-backed on the Journalism Online Tool.
