The 2006 ~FAST Tex projects
Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs

Title:
Simulation and Multi-media development for Cross Border Conflict Resolution

Faculty Client:
David Eaton, eaton@mail.utexas.edu

Student Developer:
Damien Brockmann

Project Description:
This project developed a video library of real stakeholder interviews where they express their perspectives, interests, and concerns over natural resources. The media developed is indexed into classic narrative structures so that they can be viewed through a framework (archetypes, action, and function) enabling better understand of conflict sources, support comprehension of common themes of conflict, and to teach listening skills for underlying conflict sources. This skill will enhance students’ future work as public policy analysts and will help them become familiar with conflict dynamics of common pool resources.
