This section features instructional technology development efforts within colleges and units throughout UT Austin, including material for course websites, discipline-specific instructional resources, and our annual campus-wide IT showcase highlighting current and ongoing projects.

  College of Liberal Arts, Instructional Technology Services

The College of Liberal Arts provides multimedia and technology support for instruction, including course websites and application development, audio and video services, technology classroom support, student technology assistants, faculty workshops and grants, and bulk equipment purchasing.   College of Communication, CoComm Creative

The College of Communication CoComm Creative was established with the goal of enabling faculty to enhance the educational experience through the use of state-of-the-art and emerging technologies. The Group offers full service assistance including online course development, audio-visual production and multimedia applications. Various services are offered including media authoring, distance learning, and training in current media production tools.


  College of Engineering, Faculty Innovation Center

The Faculty Innovation Center (FIC) provides media, instructional, and faculty
development services in support of engineering faculty to enhance their
teaching, both with and without technology. The FIC crafts unique and highly
targeted solutions to respond to individual faculty needs, including
instructional design, Web development, graphic design, 3D visualization, video
production, programming, distance learning, project management, and more.  


  College of Education, Learning Technology Center

The Learning Technology Center provides current and effective information, communication and multimedia technology facilities and services to the students and faculty of the College of Education. It assists and supports the students and faculty in the use of computing, telecommunications, and other digital technologies in all phases of their insructional and research activities, develops and provides support for research programs in the use of technology in educational settings, and provides leadership in the educational applications of technology within the College of Education, the University, and at the local, state, national, and international level.


  College of Pharmacy, Learning Resource Center

The LRC supports live two-way and multipoint interactive video conferencing,
analog and digital delivery of recorded pharmacy classes, computer and audio/visual support for classes, a student computer laboratory, an instructional materials development facility, a student media library, a computer laboratory classroom, and training and consulting in a variety of technical areas.


  School of Information, Information Technology Services

The Information Technology Services group plans, implements, supports, and promotes information technology systems use for School of Information students, faculty and staff. The Information Technology Lab provides access and instruction to the latest computer and AV technology, premium software, and a range of online tutorials. See an example of current projects.


  IC2 Institute

IC2 (Innovation, Creativity & Capital) Institute is an international, transdisciplinary "Think and Do" tank devoted to solving unstructured problems to accelerate wealth and job creation and shared prosperity at home and abroad. As a research unit at the University of Texas at Austin, IC2 is focused on knowledge exploration, dissemination, and application across a broad range of academic and applied areas.


  Information Technology Services, Enterprise Information Services

Enterprise Information Services (EIS) develops, evaluates, and provides tools and infrastructure for information systems, including resources for the retention, management, and access of University records, and the framework and support for UT Direct, the University's secure portal to administrative services. EIS also recruits, hires, and trains technical staff to assist offices with information needs, and empowers clients by helping them transform data into useful information.
