Evaluating Learning Technology
"The goal of this project is to conduct a systematic assessment of the impact of World Wide Web and Internet technologies on teaching and learning here at the University of Wisconsin. The assessment will primarily involve the use of student evaluations and questionnaires."
Project Assessment of Distance Education Technology (ADEPT)
"A project to assess what combination of technology/pedagogy/learner characteristics best enhances student satisfaction with distance education courses. In looking at students' level of satisfaction with distance education, we want to assess what factors contribute to that satisfaction; the extent to which delivery format affects whether they will be more or less likely continue to pursue higher education and be life-long learners; and how they will likely go about learning in the future."
Of special note is the writing Student Satisfaction. It is the record of "[a] project to assess what combination of technology/pedagogy/learner characteristics best enhances student satisfaction with distance education courses. In looking at students' level of satisfaction with distance education, we want to assess what factors contribute to that satisfaction; the extent to which delivery format affects whether they will be more or less likely continue to pursue higher education and be life-long learners; and how they will likely go about learning in the future."
A Comparative Analysis of Web-Based Testing and Evaluation Systems by Elizabeth J. Gibson, Patrick W. Brewer, Ajay Dholakia, Mladen A. Vouk, and Donald L. Bitzer
"One of the most important characteristics of an advanced learning environment is its ability to evaluate the knowledge acquisition and retention rate of its user, and to adapt to student needs. Therefore, it is not surprising that an increasing number of student knowledge testing and evaluation systems, that can be attached to World Wide Web courseware and tutorials, are becoming available. In this paper, we discuss some basic features that such a system needs to have, and in that light evaluate a selection of the Web-based testing and evaluation systems."
