Toolbox

resources, documentation, and books for further study.
Designing Web sites for
wireless access
The unwired Net is here. As personal
digital assistants, such as the Palm and Handspring Visor, and Web-enabled
cell phones become more popular, we'll see more sites enabled for these
devices. See WebMonkey's "Designing

to learn about the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and Wireless Markup
Language (WML).
AppleScript
AppleScript is an English-like language for the Macintosh used
to write script files which can automate the actions of the computer and
the applications which run on it.
Cascading
Style Sheets
A cascading style sheet provides
a set of rules describing how an HTML document should appear on a computer
screen. It is a simple mechanism for adding information about layout (e.g.
fonts, colors, spacing, type size) to Web documents. Style sheets can
also be used to add accessibility to Web pages for those with sight or
hearing impairments. Find out more about the promises of this evolving
technology.
Java

Network
The newest item on O'Reilly's is its JavaScript
and CSS Dev Center. Other developers' sections include Java, Linux,
Perl, PHP, Wireless, and XML.
Web
Developer's Virtual Library
A comprehensive illustrated encyclopedia of Web technology, the WDVL
is a collection of tutorials, examples, and links to resources.
MacInstruct's
Tutorial Archive
The largest collection of free Macintosh tutorials on the Internet.
There is an excellent two-part MacPerl tutorial in the Multimedia and
Interactive section.
Mac
OS X Programming: Getting Started
This Apple site contains tutorials, samples, documentation, information
on user newsletters, and other links to help programmers get started with
OS X.
