by Margaret Riel
http://lrs.ed.uiuc.edu/Guidelines/Riel-93.html
Read about the experiences of teachers and children
participating in the AT&T Learning Network initiative. This
paper does more than say how the Internet can expand the classroom
experience, it vividly illustrates the benefits. As it states,
"Exchanging ideas with students and teachers
in other places about science, math, literature, ideas, and beliefs
enhance learning because it is inherently a social process of
constructing shared understandings. The AT&T Learning Network
provides a structure -- Learning Circles--and process --team work
over time and distance--for creating a shared way of understanding."
