The Mazur Group at Harvard University

Dr. Eric Mazur heads one of the largest physics research groups at Harvard and is an internationally renowned laser physicist. Dr. Mazur is also the developer of Peer Instruction, an innovative, evidence-based teaching and learning method used in thousands of classrooms across the globe. The Mazur Group develops and researches technology-based learning methods that drive student success by transforming conventionally taught courses.

OLI is often described as one of the most promising innovations in online education. The model begins with a rigorous reevaluation of learning goals, followed by development of a combination of open-source course materials and advanced technology-based assessments, interactive tutors, and feedback mechanisms to help students realize their potential.
