DIIA Digital Media InternshipThe Division of Instructional Innovation (DIIA), in partnership with the Bridging Disciplines Programs (BDP), offers the DIIA Digital Media Internship: a six-week (120-hour) paid multimedia training program in June and July. Students who successfully complete our program will receive a stipend and may qualify for continued employment in the summer, fall, and spring with DIIA's Digital Media Services and ~FAST-Tex programs. Students will develop and practice digital media production proficiency, project management, collaboration, and other professional and interpersonal skills. Students will learn a core set of digital media technologies including graphics, animation, audio, video, and basic web development. Students will also learn how to use DIIA Digital Media Lab and recording facilities, plan and design projects, work with clients and on teams, and follow successful work strategies. Project assignments can range from basic web design and production, graphics/animation, video/audio production, to more advance levels of PHP/database programming, interactive multimedia development with Flash, 3D modeling, and game development. Once the core training has been completed, students may pursue training in more advanced topics, such as advanced audio/video production, Web databases, Flash ActionScript and Adobe Flex, 3D modeling, and more, in various tracks. The internship provides students the opportunity to gain real-world experience through instructional technology projects, supports students in developing portfolios that highlight and promote student skills and abilities, and can be individually tailored to each student’s background, interests, and program objectives.
