UGS Bridging Disciplines Programs

DIIA's Digital Media Internship recruits undergradute students through collaboration with the School of Undergraduate Studies (UGS) Bridging Disciplines Programs (BDP). Recent interns have included students from the Digital Arts & Media, Environment, and Film Studies BDP's. During the 2009 program, students successfully planned, designed, and programmed a digital game, created a biographical video, and completed a digital portfolio Web site in addition to exploring a variety of digital tools and techniques. Following the program, DIIA offered Student Technologist positions to a number of the internship participants from the BDP's. These students are currently supporting DIIA's efforts to promote the integration of instructional technologies in UT courses.

"The Digital Media Internship provided a wonderful opportunity for students in the Digital Arts and Media Bridging Disciplines Program to learn a wide variety of digital media software applications in a very short period of time, under the direction of the excellent DIIA staff members leading the internship program. The collaborative nature of the experience allowed students who began the program with different skill levels to learn from each other, and in the process to show their creativity with digital media."
