Grades, statistics, and uploading scores

How do I turn my grades on?
Please see the grading tutorials for more information.
How do I see a spreadsheet view of my students, assignments, and grades?
Select the Download scores link on the Navigation Bar to see a spreadsheet view. (You do not need to download in order to see the spreadsheet.)
How can I post letter grades instead of number grades for my students?
At this time, letter grades are not accepted by eGradebook. However, you can use the Comments feature to provide an unofficial letter grade to students. Visit the Add comments tutorials to learn how to post comments at the level of the entire class, or at the assignment level, or at the student assignment level.
Is eGradebook able to drop the lowest scores (for example, the lowest quiz score)?
Yes. After choosing a class, click on the My Preferences link in the left Navigation Menu. In the Final Grade Calculation section, choose Calculate by Weighting and you may drop any number of scores within any of the available categories. For more information, please visit the Dropping lowest scores tutorial.
How do I assign weights to different assignment types?
If you want grades to be automatically calculated by weighting event types, you must set your scheme up in the Preferences settings section of your eGradebook. For more information, please visit the Weighting grades tutorial.
How do I download my scores into a spreadsheet?
Please visit the Download scores tutorial for more information.
How do I upload into eGradebook?
Before uploading, it is best to create assignments within eGradebook, and then to download your spreadsheet. Once you have entered the scores, it is easy to upload the spreadsheet.
How can I use a single spreadsheet to upload grades to multiple unique numbers?
Currently, the eGradebook functionality does not allow this. However, if all students from multiple sections are in a downloaded spreadsheet, you can simply change the cell that references the class unique number and upload the same spreadsheet multiple times.
How do I view the student performance statistics for an assignment such as mean, standard deviation, due date, and total points?
The student performance statistics are displayed on the Assignments page.
I have chosen to display statistical data to my class. Why does the standard deviation appear for only some and not all of my assignments?
Statistical data does not displayed for the Attendance assignment type.
How will manually entering a score on the Student Roster page for an assignment affect all of the statistical calculations?
Once you enter a score manually, that student's grade is marked by eGradebook as having been Hand Scored (an asterisk will appear under the HS column). The result will still be calculated into the t-score, standard deviation, mean, and rank. However, if an answer key is present for the assignment, changes to the answer key will NOT affect any of the students' grades marked Hand Scored.
I want to add points to everyone’s assignment as a curve. Is there a way to do this without entering scores by hand?
Yes. Click on the assignment from the class home page, or from the Navigation Bar. In the Adjust All Scores box above the student roster, choose either Add or Subtract, type in the number of points to adjust, and click on the Adjust Scores button.
My class has ten sections and I have made one of the sections the "parent" of the other nine, and have set the option to display the statistics to the students. However, the students only see the statistics for their particular section. Is it possible to enable statistics for the overall class (i.e. all ten sections)?
At this time, the ability to look at statistics for multiple Unique Numbers is not available in eGradebook.
