Application Process for the Upcoming Season (2010)

Faculty interested in submitting a proposal for the upcoming 2010 season should review the faculty information on this website and send email to fasttex@www.utexas.edu no later than October 31, 2009 to set up a consulting appointment.

~FAST Tex staff offer consulting on instructional design, potential projects, best practices, emerging technologies, and assessment to help prepare project proposals. Faculty must consult with ~FAST Tex staff in order to submit a proposal.

To be eligible to receive a ~FAST Tex grant, you must be a UT Austin faculty member who will use the completed project in a UT Austin course impacting UT Austin students. Preference will be given to faculty who are new to ~FAST Tex. Further details about project selection criteria, grant timeline and production process, and faculty responsibilities will be discussed during project consulting.

Grant timeline

• October 31, 2009  – Statement of intent and consulting appointment deadline

• October – November 28, 2009 – Proposal/project consulting (required)

• December 1, 2009 – Proposal deadline

• December 2009 – January 2010 – Proposal review

• February 1, 2010 – Proposal acceptance notification

• February – June 2010 – Project preparation/content gathering

• July  2010 – August 2010 – Project development

• September 2010 – May 2011 – Project implementation and revision
