The submission deadline for T-shirt designs is May 14, 2006. Limit one submission per person.

Design requirements and specifications

You will need to prepare two copies of your design—one high-resolution version for the T-shirt manufacturer, and one compressed version for our online voting page.

Your design must contain the following:

  • The text "The University of Texas at Austin". If you use the UT Wordmark, you must follow the appropriate guidelines.
  • The text "IT Showcase 2006"

If you use any other graphic elements belonging to the University of Texas, you will need to follow the University's guidelines.

Design specifications for T-shirt printing

Specifications:

  • 4-color on a light colored T-shirt, front only
  • Maximum dimensions: 8 x 8 inches
  • Minimum font size: 14 pt

Design specifications for online voting

Specifications:

  • JPEG or GIF format
  • Maximum dimensions: 1500 X 1500 pixel
  • Maximum file size: 1 MB

File formatting instructions

You will need to prepare two copies of your design in different file formats—one high-resolution version for the T-shirt manufacturer, and one low-resolution version for our online voting page.

High-resolution file requirements for T-shirt printing

Please refer to the additional formatting instructions from the printer before submitting high-resolution files. If your design is selected, you will need to supply a black-and-white or color printout of your artwork.

Specifications:

  • Maximum file size: 1 MB

Acceptable file formats (in order of preference):

  • Macromedia Freehand 5.0–8.0
  • Adobe Illustrator .EPS 5.5–6
  • Adobe Photoshop .PSD 4.0 or higher (300 dpi)
  • High-resolution JPEGs (300 dpi)

The T-shirt manufacturer does not accept:

  • Corel Draw
  • Publisher
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Microsoft Office
  • Low-resolution JPEGs

Note: Low-resolution artwork or pictures found on the Internet rarely print well, especially small photo-realistic pictures.

Low-resolution file requirements for online voting

You will need to submit a version of your design for our online voting page.

Specifications:

  • Maximum file size: 1 MB
  • Maximum image size: 1500 X 1500 pixels

Acceptable file formats:

  • JPEGs (72 dpi)
  • GIFs
