Executive Vice President and Provost

DIIA Director Ashcroft Represents UT Austin at Two National Groups

DIIA’s Director Dr. Judy Ashcroft will be in Washington DC June 1518 representing the University at meetings of two educational organizations for which she holds elected national office.

For the University Continuing Education Association, Dr. Ashcroft chairs the Futures and Markets Commission, and is a member of the UCEA Board of Directors. Previously she was the first chair of the Distance Learning Community of Practice and the chair of the Independent Learning Division. The UCEA is among the oldest college and university associations in the United States. As the principal US organization for continuing higher education, the UCEA assists institutions of higher learning and affiliated nonprofit organizations to increase access through a wide array of educational programs and services.

And this year Dr. Ashcroft is a member of the Executive Committee for the Council on Extension, Continuing Education and Public Service (CECEPS) of the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges. Founded in 1887, NASULGC is the nation's oldest higher education association. A voluntary association of public universities, land-grant institutions and many of the nation's public university systems, NASULGC is dedicated to supporting excellence in teaching, research and public service.

In both positions, Dr. Ashcroft's leadership was sought in identifying the issues of today as well as anticipating future trends in higher education.
