Innovative Instructional Technology Awards Program (IITAP) Awards 2006

IITAP Gold Award winner for Teaching with Technology: Kinematic Analysis of Human Movement ("Biomech").

IITAP Gold Award winner for Resource Development: Operations Research Models and Methods.

IITAP winner for Special Recognition Award: Texas Politics.

Awards in the areas of Teaching with Technology and Resource Development were awarded to six outstanding exemplars at the 2006 IITAP Showcase.  A Special Recognition Award was created for the Texas Politics project, from the Department of Government and a development team from the Liberal Arts Information Technology Services (LAITS). Awards totaling $8500 were presented to the six exemplary faculty members, and each winning team received an iPod donated by Apple Computer, Inc.

The ninth annual showcase was dedicated to Judythe Wilbur, Sr. Systems Analyst and Information and Web Design Team Leader, who passed away only days before the event.  Wilbur was vitally involved in the IITAP program. Associate Vice President and DIIA Director Judy Ashcroft spoke in honor of Wilbur. "She coached and guided, edited and suggested, supported and encouraged—and she was tireless in going over the details. Her presence and influence are here—in excellent work and in the hearts of her colleagues. We miss her, but we will live out her lessons to us."

The IITAP program is sponsored by DIIA and the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost to acknowledge faculty projects that enhance teaching and learning in the classroom. To view the IITAP 2005 highlights video, a list of the winners and more visit the IITAP site.
