Instructional Assessment Resources (IAR) launches new Web siteThe Division of Instructional Innovation and Assessment has developed a unique online resource to guide university instructors and staff in assessing student learning, teaching, instructional technology, and conducting program evaluation—the Instructional Assessment Resources (IAR) Web site. This comprehensive resource provides detailed information to systematically determine whether teaching strategies are meeting goals, how instructors can elicit valuable feedback from their students, and which technologies are most appropriate to achieve class objectives, among other topics. IAR leads users step-by-step through the assessment process—planning, gathering data, and reporting results, explaining assessment methods, presenting real-world examples, and providing helpful instructional tools, tables, and worksheets. Through the IAR Web site, DIIA offers ideas about how to tailor university-wide student feedback tools, such as the Ongoing Course Assessment (OCA) system, Blackboard surveys, and Course Instructor Surveys (CIS), to meet individual instructor needs and garner student feedback throughout the semester.
