Division of Continuing and Innovative Education reflects new relationship

Love was in the air at DIIA’s Valentine’s Day all-staff meeting with the announcement by Judy Ashcroft of a parallel working relationship between two UT Austin divisions dedicated to empowering teaching and learning excellence. Ashcroft, who on February 1 succeeded Thomas Hatfield at the helm of the Division of Continuing Education, becomes dean of the Continuing and Innovative Education, effecting the alignment of sibling staffs dedicated to integrating pedagogy, innovative technology, and assessment to serve the university community and to sustain outreach to all Texans. Ashcroft also announced that former DIIA deputy director Rob Bruce becomes associate dean and Shan Evans becomes assistant dean for technology. In the coming weeks, group staff will meet their counterparts to develop networking and collaborative relationships in a series of affinity group meetings.
