Templates (surveys that have not yet been assigned to students)

Can I build my own template? If so, how?

Yes. The Template Builder link in the left Navigation Menu allows you to build your own template. You may select questions from a variety of templates and lists to create your template.

Can I edit a template found in the Template Library?

Yes. You may edit an OCA template by using it as a starting point for your own template in the Template Builder. Once you have named it, you can edit it through the Personal Library if the Edit link is available on the right.

Can I add items to or remove items from a template I have created?

You may edit a template that you have created by choosing the Personal Library link. Click on the Edit link to the right of the template, if it is available.

Can I reorder the items on a template?

You may reorder items on a template by clicking on the Personal Library link, and clicking on the Edit link to the right of the template, if it is available. Then, alter the position numbers in the left hand column, and click the Rearrange button.

When is the Edit link available to edit templates in my Personal Library?

A template can be edited until it has been assigned to a class and has survey results attached to it. After it has been assigned and has results attached to it, the Edit link will not be available to the right of the template in the Personal Library.

A template that has results attached to it can be edited after the survey results have been deleted. (You may want to download the results first.) See the Deleting survey results tutorial for more information.

Why can't I delete a template from my Personal Library?

A template cannot be removed if there are Survey Results that are attached to it. If you delete the Survey Results, then you may delete the template.
