The Provost's Transfer Student Working Group, chaired by Vice Provost Gretchen Ritter, was formed in July 2009 in anticipation of the growth of the UT transfer student population that may result from recent legislation and policy initiatives at the state and national levels. These initiatives include President Obama's American Graduation Initiative [1], Texas Senate Bill 175 [2], and UT System's Community College Transfer Initiative [3]. The group is charged with reviewing current university policies and programs for transfer students and recommending changes designed to strengthen our ability to address the needs of this student population. The Office of Information Management and Analysis is one of several administrative units working collaboratively to provide data and information to support the work of this group.
