WORQSpace is the official tool for collecting all space information at The University of Texas at Austin. The primary function of WORQSpace is to provide a simple and effective process for maintaining accurate information about space that the university owns or leases. The Office of Information Management and Analysis (IMA) is one of three sponsors of the Space Management Initiative which lead to the development of WORQSpace as the primary tool for managing space for the University of Texas at Austin. IMA maintains a "shadow" database through its mainframe application *ISFACL. The room information in WORQSpace is uploaded nightly to *ISFACL in order to keep these two databases synchronized. The room data in *ISFACL is used by other departmental mainframe applications, such as the Registrar's room scheduling system, which do not directly access room information through WORQSpace.
IMA is currently the focal point for managing building information for the University. This information is maintained in *ISFACL and transferred to WORQSpace when additions or changes occur.
