Writing Sample
We require a writing
sample in your proposed primary field of study, conforming
to these standards:
FICTION: one
or two stories totaling approximately 30 pages. Novel excerpts
are strongly discouraged unless they stand alone as short
stories. Manuscripts should be double-spaced and stapled.
No paper clips, binders, disks or published volumes.
POETRY: a collection
of at least 10 poems not to exceed 25 pages. Staple the entire
set together. No paper clips, binders, disks or other
media.
SCREENWRITING:
a feature-length (90-120 pgs) original screenplay or adaptation.
Firmly bind with brads or in a simple 8 1/2" x 11" cover.
Do not include videotapes, DVDs or other media.
PLAYWRITING:
a full-length play or two one-act plays. Firmly bind
with brads or in a soft, 8 1/2" x 11" cover. Do not include
other media.
