IAE Online Reports

The Instructional Assessment and Evaluation (IAE) group of DIIA produces five kinds of study reports: Credit-by-Exam studies, Evaluation studies, Literature Reviews, Research studies, and Standard-setting studies.

  • Credit-by-Exam studies- report the number of credit by exam scores (AP, IB, CLEP, UT Austin tests, etc.) students submit when entering the University of Texas. These annual reports also examine scores by exam type, college of the course, number of credits awarded, and trends over time.
  • Evaluation studies- instructional evaluations of classroom instruction, academic programs, or instructional technology that includes conclusions and recommendations.
  • Literature reviews- summary interpretations of research findings in published
    literature on a particular topic.
  • Research studies - focus on the use of quasi-experimental methods and secondary data analysis to understand educational topics.
  • Standard-setting studies- determine what qualifying scores on locally developed placement or credit-by-examination tests are needed to place students out of a course and/or award course credit.
