ITALIAN STUDY VISA
All students studying abroad in Italy are required to have Italian student visas. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please contact Royal Travels for instructions, since the application documentation requirements may differ.
If you are a U.S. citizen, you will need to submit this documentation to Royal Travels about two months before the program:
- Valid passport - you must give us your actual passport, so that the Consulate can affix your visa into it. Be sure that it is valid for at least 6 months after your return, and that you have signed it! (submit also 3 legible photocopies of your passport)
- Visa application, NOTARIZED (submit 1 original & 1 photocopy)
- 6 Passport photos - write your last name on the back of each photo.
- Proof of Financial Means (submit 1 original & 1 photocopy)
- IF YOU BOOKED YOUR FLIGHTS ON YOUR OWN - your travel itinerary.
After your arrival in Castiglion Fiorentino, the Italart staff at Santa Chiara will be assisting the group in obtaining your "permessos di soggiorno" (permits to stay), for which there is an additional charge of about $11.00, which you will pay in Italy.
PROOF OF FINANCIAL MEANS is a document showing your ability to support yourself during your stay in Italy. These documents will fulfill this requirement:
- Notarized affidavit of financial support signed by your parents/legal guardians stating their financial responsibility for you during your stay in Italy (based on an estimated minimum of at least $800.00 a month), along with their personal bank statement or a bank letter of financial good standing;
- OR
- Your personal bank statement (showing a minimum balance of $800.00 x the number of months you will be in Italy) or a bank letter of financial good standing;
- OR
- Copy of the grant or scholarship with the amount allocated on your behalf (minimum of $800.00 x the number of months you will be in Italy)
