Purchasing Office Relocating
Effective Aug. 3, 2009

Dear Valued Colleague,

The Purchasing Office will relocate to the Main Building, room 132 effective Aug. 3, 2009. Central Receiving will also completely vacate the building effective Aug. 3, 2009. Nearly all central receiving is already handled by our provider, MagRabbit via their off-site facility. The building in which we have been located for many years is being renovated and will become the university’s new primary data center. After so many years you can imagine the volume of files we have to sort through, pack and pack! To get all this completed we plan to significantly curtail normal purchasing operations for the week of July 27-31. Please know that we will deal with emergency purchases during this period and will continue to process purchasing documents such as packing permits.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience our relocation may cause you. Should you require emergency assistance from July 27-31, please do not hesitate to contact the Purchasing Office at our main number, 512-471-4266. This number will be answered at all times during the business day. We will also be reading e-mail and respond to calls as quickly as possible. Although physical access to the Central Receiving Building will be limited, our fax (512-471-7745) will be available for document submission. Departments are welcome to scan and e-mail documents when possible. For additional information on the relocation, please visit http://www.utexas.edu/admin/purchasing/purchmove.html.

Sincerely,
The University Central Purchasing Team
