Craig Allen
- Born in Grand Prairie, Texas, in 1980.
- Graduates from Grand Prairie High School in 1998.
- Meets future wife outside Jester Auditorium during his freshman year at UT Austin.
- Graduates from UT Austin with degrees in fine arts and advertising in 2003. Also receives a certificate from the Business Foundations program.
- Interns at New York’s TBWA/CHIAT/DAY agency, moving from Austin two weeks after graduation. After six months accepts full-time position as an art director/copywriter and stays for five years. Works on such accounts as Skittles, Starburst, and Snickers.
- In 2008 becomes art director of Wieden+Kennedy in Portland, Ore., working on such brands as Coke, Nike, and Old Spice.
- Wins the 2010 Cannes Advertising Festival Grand Prix for the popular Old Spice commercial “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like.”
- The ad becomes a YouTube sensation with 30 million views.
- Wins the Outstanding Commercial Emmy in 2010 for the Old Spice commercial.
- Named a 2011 Outstanding Young Texas Ex; will be honored at Commencement in May.
