|
Facility amenities include the physical changes that can be made to an employment facility to employees. Amenities that are trip generators such as daycare centers, bank offices, restaurants, gyms, and coffee/newspaper shops are situated on-site. The effectiveness of on-site amenities provision may be comparable to that of mixed-use development. Establishing private businesses in employment centers/sites may require proof of profitability, and local zoning regulations may prevent or make difficult their implementation. In 2004, TI’s North Texas site was recognized for its robust commute solutions such as air pollution watch notifications, special events and more. TI has been recognized by North Texas Clean Air Coalition with a Gold Level Clean Air Recognition of Employers (CARE) award in 2003, a Climate Protection award in Austin by the EPA. The onsite amenities provided at the work location include premium/secure parking, information booths, on site showers and lockers for bikers.
