Intercollegiate Athletics for Men

THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN

The following information is intended to assist you in your visit to Austin, Texas and Darrel K. Royal Memorial Stadium. Jeff Dieta with UT Men’s Athletics Events and Operations office will serve as your liaison and contact throughout your visit to Austin on Game Day. Jeff will provide all assistance on your pre arrival details such as credentials, parking, directions, halftime hospitality, dressing areas, etc.

Parking:Parking is very limited surrounding DKR Memorial Stadium. We can provide parking for your van, bus, etc. by contacting Jeff Dieta in advance at (512) 232 – 2911.

Stadium Entrance:You will be asked to enter on the northwest side of DKR Memorial Stadium through The Red McCombs Red Zone Loading Dock. Individuals with the appropriate spirit group field pass will be required to enter through the northwest loading dock. **All spirit squad individuals must have a “spirit group field pass” or must be ticketed out of the university’s main ticket allotment in order to enter DKR Memorial Stadium. All spirit squad individuals must have a “spirit group field pass” in order to enter the stadium and field area.

Squad Size:Due to our newly configured field on DKR Memorial stadium and the scarcity of field space, Texas Athletics allows a maximum of 10 cheerleaders (or any combination of dancers or cheer) in uniform, a mascot, and a coach, for a total of 12 individuals present on the field. All cheerleaders, coaches, mascots, and any other spirit and traditions groups must have a field access pass upon entering the field. Any individuals present on the field without a field access pass will be escorted out of Royal Memorial Stadium, and will not be allowed entrance through the duration of the game. Any combination of 10 spirit squad individuals, a mascot, and a coach or supervisor, are allowed on the field at a time. If the university chooses to bring more than the designated field allotment of 12 total to have them rotate field time, they are required to have those individuals sit in the stands and must be ticketed out of their university’s main ticket allotment. Changing Facility: There will be changing facilities available for visiting cheerleaders upon prior request. A changing facility will be provided to the visiting mascot upon prior request as well. Please contact Jeff Dieta at (512) 232-2911 to make arrangements.

Texas Athletics Regulations:All members of the visiting spirit squad are restricted to the area directly in front of the university’s main ticket allotment. PLEASE NOTE: No member of the visiting spirit squad are allowed on the playing field at any point in time upon entrance in to DKR Memorial Stadium. This includes running of flags onto the field for pre game, during the game, or post game.

Big XII Regulations:

7.1 Mascots on Field – The policy regarding mascots on the field is a home team administrative responsibility, but no mascots shall be on the field or end zone during play. Any other activity (e.g. between periods, during time-outs, etc.) should be confined between the end line and 20 yard line.
