How Do I Get My Name on a Waiting List for a Stadium Suite?

Send a dated letter or an email requesting placement on the waiting list to Jim Baker, Assistant Athletics Director, The University of Texas, P.O. Box 7399, Austin, TX 78713-7399 (jimbaker@mail.utexas.edu).

What are the Leasing Terms?

Up to four individuals may lease a single stadium suite.

Stadium suite lease terms are three, five or seven years. If, over the course of the lease term, one or more individuals drop out of the plan, the remaining individuals are responsible for replacing the partners or for adhering to the lease terms in order to maintain the suite.

A number of west side suites are up for renewal following the 1999 season. Current lessees have first right of refusal once their lease terms expire.

What Are the Tax-Deductible Benefits of Leasing a Stadium Suite?

There are three components to stadium suite pricing -- tickets, the annual suite license, and a tax deductible contribution to the Longhorn Foundation. The Foundation is the annual giving arm of UT Athletics. Consult your personal tax advisor for details.

What is the Payment Plan?

Individuals who wish to lease a stadium suite are required to submit $5,000 in earnest money. The earnest money ensures that the individual receives a suite and a specific location. The stadium suite agreement and annual fees are divided into three parts:

  1. Tax deductible contribution to the Longhorn Foundation
  2. Annual suite license
  3. Season football tickets
NOTE: Charges for additional game tickets, catering and alcohol/beverage service are billed separately throughout the season.

The University provides insurance to protect contents of the suite and also provides liability coverage for suite tenants. Suite holders may pay annually or make a one-time up front payment -- at present day value -- for the entire length of the agreement (3-year, 5-year or 7-year term). Suite holders also have right of first refusal to renew the suite once the lease term is expired. All Suites are sold out for 1999.

What is Included in the Stadium Suites?

The stadium suites provide every amenity for game day hospitality. Suite holders receive preferential parking spaces adjacent to the stadium as well as special access by elevator to the suite level, where hostesses and ushers assist patrons throughout game day. Individual suites are uniform in decor, with theater-style seating, movable windows, two television sets, telephone line, a living room area and kitchenette, food service areas, and access to first-class catering and beverage/alcohol service. All catering for food and beverage is provided by Club Corporation of America. Additional amenities (private bartender, etc.) are available for an additional charge. Suites are fully maintained and serviced by UT Athletics.

Are Suite Holders Able to Purchase Extra Football Game Tickets for Friends Who Sit in Suites With Them?

Yes. The number of extra tickets is independent upon the suit size. Tickets are ordered through the Stadium Suites Operations staff.

Why Has UT Built Stadium Suites?

Revenue from the stadium suites is dedicated to funding renovations to many UT athletics facilities -- Moncrief-Neuhaus Athletics Complex, West Side Grandstand, East Side Grandstand, the Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field, the Red and Charlene McCombs Softball Field, the Frank Denius Athletics Fields, and other improvements to Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Private philanthropic gifts and planned giving efforts provide additional funding sources.

Can I Keep My Seats in the Stadium or My 200 Horns Club Membership?

Yes. However, you are required to make the additional appropriate contributions linked to those seats.

What About Away Football Game and Texas-OU Football Game Ticket Priorities?

Each suite has the following ticket priorities attached. Note that donors may order as many away game/Texas-OU tickets as they have season tickets, but prime tickets are limited to six per 12-seat suite.

What About Season Ticket Priorities in Other Sports and Access to VIP Hospitality Areas (Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Baseball, Softball)?

Patrons are required to make the appropriate annual contributions to the Longhorn Foundation linking seats in other ticketed sports in men's basketball, baseball, soccer, women's basketball, volleyball and softball.
