Part 7. Purchasing - Table of Contents

7.6.1. DEBARMENT AND SUSPENSION

Under Presidential Executive Order 12549 and Executive Order 12689, as required by the Federal Acquisition (FAR) Subpart 9.4,The University of Texas at Austin may not contract with parties listed on the General Services Administration's Excluded Parties List System (EPLS). The EPLS identifies entities that have been debarred, suspended, or excluded from receiving federal contracts, subcontracts, or federal assistance and benefits.

For purchases over $25,000 using federal funds, the purchasing buyer checks the EPLS to ensure that the vendor has not been debarred or suspended from receiving federal funds. The purchasing buyer then includes a copy of the EPLS printout with the purchase order file to verify the vendor’s status.
