18.1. INVESTMENTS INTRODUCTION AND RESOURCES

A. Introduction

This investment policy presents the guidelines for the investment process of The University of Texas at Austin. The university’s investment objectives are as follows, in order of importance:

  1. Preserve principal;
  2. Maintain sufficient operating liquidity; and
  3. Invest assets to maximize return while assuming a reasonable level of risk.

In accordance with the university’s responsibility as a fiduciary of public funds, the investment program will be managed in a manner that promotes the best interest of the university and the public.
