Request for Travel Authorization Traveler Assistance Enhancement

UT Austin:

Beginning in Nov. 14, the *DEFINE VE5 and VE6 Request for Travel Authorization (RTA) documents will be enhanced with a new field in Section 5 to identify university employees who will be traveling internationally with university students. This enhancement will improve our ability to find and assist travelers when international incidents occur, such as disease outbreaks, terrorism, political unrest, floods, or other natural disasters.

If any of the destinations listed on an RTA are foreign (including Mexico, Canada, or one of the U.S. territories) and the traveler type is either Employee or Student, the creator will be asked whether the traveler will be traveling with students. Enter either Y for yes or N for no. If Y is entered, Travel Management Services will send an automated e-mail to the creator requesting a list of students that will be traveling.

For more information about Section 5, contact Travel Management Services at 471-6641 or send an e-mail to tms@austin.utexas.edu
