Effective November 2005, all students are billed electronically for tuition. eBilling offers several benefits to students:
- eBilling is immediate. Electronic bills are delivered more quickly than bills sent via postal mail, and electronic payments are posted immediately to your account—no more relying on postal delivery service or manual input of payments into the system.
- The bill can be easily forwarded to the paying party if it is someone other than you.
- Secure payments can be made from any computer with Internet access,
anytime, anywhere.

How do I get an eBill?
Every student who registers for classes will receive an eBill Notification at
the e-mail address on his or her student record. When you log on to register,
your current e-mail address will be provided along with a link to the UT Direct
Web site from which you may update it if it has changed. Update your Directory
Information using ROSE.
How does eBilling work with the payment installment plan?
Installment notices will also be sent via e-mail.
How is payment made under eBilling?
Your official eBill will include a link to the My Tuition Bill Web site. From this site, you may pay with eCheck, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), MasterCard or Discover.
Is a convenience fee assessed to all online payment options?
No. eCheck and EFT are free services. Payment by MasterCard or Discover is subject to a 1.75% convenience fee.
Is paying online secure?
Yes. You must log into UT Direct with your UT EID and password to view and pay
your bill. UT Direct is a secured server and all information and
payments made through this site are securely protected.
Can my parents pay for me online?
Yes. Using the eProxy system, you can authorize others to make a payment on your behalf using their own UT EID and password. More information on setting up and utilizing eProxy is available at http://www.utexas.edu/student/eproxy.
What if the electronic bill gets sent to an old e-mail account?
As stipulated in the University Electronic Mail Student Notification Policy, it is the responsibility of every student to keep the University informed of changes in e-mail addresses. Bounced back e-mail is not an acceptable excuse for missed communication. Regardless of whether or not your eBill is successfully received, you are still responsible for timely payment of your tuition bill.
What if my e-mail in-box is full?
The University Electronic Mail Student Notification Policy maintains that undeliverable messages returned because of either a full in-box or use of a spam filter will still be considered delivered. Regardless of whether or not your eBill is successfully received, you are still responsible for timely payment of your tuition bill.
Where can I get a receipt if I pay online?
Official Fee Receipts are available through UT Direct from the My Tuition Bill Web site. Click on the Official Fee Receipt link just above the itemized details of the bill for a receipt from any semester.
