Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

The Frequently Asked Questions are broken down into the following categories:

Tuition and Loan Repayment (When will I receive my bill?)
Effective Spring 2006, all students will receive eBill notifications for tuition/fees, emergency cash loans, and tuition loans. NO PAPER BILLS WILL BE MAILED.

Checks and Refunds
The Where's My Check page shows detailed information about past, current and pending checks issued to you.

Payroll Check
Pick up in Payroll, Main Building, Room 134.

Loan or other Financial Aid Check
Check the status of your financial aid at the CA$H web site. If you have other questions you should contact The Office of Student Financial Services.

Scholarship Check
If a department on campus is issuing you a scholarship check it may be available in the Cashier's Office, Main Building, Room 8. Contact Scholarships and Fellowships to find the status of your check.

Tuition and Fees Refunds
Refunds are processed approximately one week after the 12th class day (4th class day during summer). If you have an Electronic Funds Transfer Authorization Form on file, your refund will be automatically deposited into your bank account. Please ensure the account information on file is current at all times. If you do not have an EFT Authorization Form on file, a refund check will be mailed to your local address.

If the Where's My Check? page doesn't answer your question, email us with your name, student UT EID number, and the reason for the check.

Overpayment Refunds
Refunds for overpayments are processed approximately 14 days after the overpayment. If you have an Electronic Funds Transfer Authorization Form on file, your refund will be automatically deposited into your bank account. Please ensure the account information on file is current at all times. If you do not have an EFT Authorization Form on file, a refund check will be mailed to your local address.

Tuition Remission
Tuition provided by your department in exchange for services is subject to Federal Income Tax and Social Security withholdings. View an example of how Tuition Remission is applied to a tuition bill, an Earning Statement, and more information regarding your annual withholdings taxes.
