Forms of Payment
Cash
Cash payments can only be made in person.
Check / Money Order
Make all checks and money orders payable to "The University of Texas at
Austin".
Include your UT EID on these forms of payment.
You can pay by mail or in person.
Electronic Funds Transfer
This option is available on the Web. You must have an EFT authorization
on file. Authorization forms are available online
or in a download*
format.
Since financial aid funds are not electronically deposited in time to
meet payment deadlines, students with financial aid should NOT use this
option. See the paragraph below to pay with financial aid.
The EFT option allows UT to withdraw funds directly from your bank account.
Withdrawals normally take place within 24 hours but may take up to three
business days to process.
Important! Visit My Bank Info to verify that your bank information is correct. Also, make sure your account has sufficient funds. If the transaction is rejected due to an incorrect account
number or insufficient funds, you will be assessed a $25 returned check
fee, and your tuition and fees will NOT be paid.
eCheck
eCheck
is online method of payment that functions like a traditional paper
check. It
does not require a high-assurance EID and can be used by anyone acting
as an e-Proxy. Withdrawals normally take place within 24 hours
but may take up to three business days to process. Please see our eCheck
FAQ Web page for more information.
Important! Make sure your account has sufficient funds.
If the transaction is rejected due to an incorrect account number or insufficient
funds, you will be assessed a $25 returned check fee.
Financial Aid
On My Tuition Bill, click View Bill, then if your financial aid fully covers your tuition and fees, click Pay with Financial Aid. Because financial aid funds are not released immediately, the Web will state a balance due until the funds are released.
If the financial aid does NOT fully cover your bill, the amount due will be reduced accordingly and you will need to pay the balance due by the deadline.
Tuition Loan
You may now apply for a Tuition
Loan or link through UT
Direct and pay your fee bill on the web. A high assurance UT EID and
password are required to create the promissory note and electronically
"sign". Questions concerning tuition loans should be directed to the
Office of Student Financial Services, (512) 475-6282.
Credit Card
Tuition can be paid online using MasterCard or Discover at My Tuition Bill on UT Direct. A 1.75 percent convenience charge will be added to all tuition and tuition loan payments by credit card.
Note: Payments by credit card can only be made online. Credit cards are not accepted at the Cashier's Office.
Western Union Quick Collect
To use Quick Collect, complete a blue Quick Collect Payment Form at a
Western Union Office (call 1-800-325-6000 to locate the nearest office),
indicating that the amount is payable to "University Texas Austin," the
code city is "Longhorns, TX," and the type of payment is
"Registration." You must also give your name and student ID number. This
transaction is cash only.
