The Installment Plan
The installment plan is available in the fall and spring semesters, but not for summer sessions, and allows the student to pay in three payments:
- The student must electronically sign a promissory note at the My Tuition Bill Web site in UT Direct before payment will be accepted.
- The first payment is approximately half the total tuition; it is the smaller of the two amounts showing on My Tuition Bill and includes a $15 installment fee.
- Spring 2012 Installment Plan due dates:
- First installment payment for students who pre-registered:
- Undergraduates—January 5, 2012
- Graduates—January 20, 2012
- Second installment payment February 17, 2012
- Third installment payment March 23, 2012
- First installment payment for students who pre-registered:

- Repayment is due 30-90 days from the date the promissory note is signed, depending on how far into the semester the loan is awarded.

Pay at the Cashier's Office in Main 8 Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. using:
- personal check
- cashier's check
- money order
- cash
Credit and debit cards are not accepted at the Cashier's Office.
Pay by Mail
Checks may be mailed; however, payment must be received in our office by 5 p.m. on the payment deadline to prevent the registration being cancelled. Make checks payable to The University of Texas at Austin and be sure the student's full name and UT EID are on the check itself. Multiple checks should be mailed together to ensure proper and timely posting of the payment.

Zero Bill
If you have a zero ($0.00) tuition bill, you still need to confirm your attendance. Go to My Tuition Bill to complete your registration. You must confirm your attendance before 5 p.m. (central time) on the day of the deadline or your classes will be canceled
Financial Aid
On My Tuition Bill, click View Bill, then if your financial aid fully covers your tuition and fees, click Pay with Financial Aid. Because financial aid funds are not released immediately, your tuition bill will state a balance due until the funds are released.
If the financial aid does not fully cover your bill, the amount due will be reduced accordingly and you will need to pay the balance due by the deadline.
Outside Scholarships
The majority of private donor scholarships are disbursed through the Office of Student Financial Services (OSFS). In most cases, scholarship donors will send checks directly to the university for processing, but not always. Tuition will be adjusted after OSFS processes the scholarship.
