HRMS—Phase 2 Functional Testing

UT Direct

Functional testing involves testing the Phase 2 HRMS system to see if it effectively handles business processes according to its intended design and meets users’ needs. Phase 2 functional testing began in July 2009 and lasted through the summer with representatives across UT Austin and other campuses participating. Ongoing team testing will occur throughout deployment.

The following are resources to help testers:

.

HRMS Issue Reporting System (JIRA) (UT EID required)—Testers should report issues using JIRA, an issue tracking software.

QUAL job application system—Testers can access the QUAL job application system for all campuses using HRMS in order to create applicant pools and fully test Recruiting Summaries.

VIDEO—How to Report an Issue with JIRA (For UT Austin)—Watch this four-minute video to learn how to easily report an issue in JIRA.

Test Case Library—A library containing test cases developed by the HRMS team. Check back often for new test cases.

For testing purposes at this time, please use Firefox as your browser.

Why are QUAL Refresh Dates Important? Document data stored in the QUAL (HRMSd test environment) refreshes once a month and is replaced with data from the production (live environment). This means that created documents and changes to positions you make for the purposes of testing and training will be erased from the system after these dates. Depending on what you are testing or working with, you may need to re-create new documents.
