“How do I enroll in the new Supervisor/Manager Series classes?”
You need to log into the “TxClass” website:
- Enter your EID and password;
- Click on “course offerings;
- Under “Search by Course Category” choose “Professional Development – CareerSmart Supervisor/Manager Series Level 1,” active courses, and you will see a list of the classes for level 1. For levels 2 and 3, choose that level in this menu;
- Click on the title of the course;
- Click on the “Start Date” for the class you want to attend;
- Scroll down to “Class Enrollment;” and
- Click on “Enroll/Withdraw yourself or others from this class.”
“I took “Managing@UT” can I get credit for that toward the new series?”
Yes, you will only need to take the remaining classes in the series and you will get complete credit.
“How do I sign up for the former “Managing@UT” classes?”
You need to log into the “TxClass” website:
- Enter your EID and password;
- Click on “course offerings;
- Under “Search by Course Category” choose “Professional Development – Managing@UT Course Formerly,” active courses, and you will see a list of the “Managing@UT” classes;
- Click on the title of the course;
- Click on the “Start Date” for the class you want to attend;
- Scroll down to “Class Enrollment;” and
- Click on “Enroll/Withdraw yourself or others from this class.”

Yes, you can. You will need to contact Human Resource Services at 512-471-5045, or email Michele Bennett at Michele.bennett@austin.utexas.edu.
“Managing@UT” is required in my department. Can I still get a certificate for it?”
Yes, all of the courses are available and are in “TxClass.”
“I have already taken some of the PDC classes required for the certificate series. Will I get credit for those?”
Yes, you will. You will need to send an email to careersmart@austin.utexas.edu or call the Human Resource Service Center at 512-471-4772.
“Can I see a list of the courses I have taken so I know what I need?”
Yes, you need to log into the “TxClass” website,
- Enter your EID and password,
- Click on “training history“
- Your training history will appear, including classes you have taken at the Professional Development Center.
“I took a management class last year with the American Management Association. Can I get credit for that toward the certificate series?”
No, because any classes taken outside the University of Texas at Austin will not be eligible for credit.
“I took a leadership class at the McCombs School of Business a couple of years ago. Can I get credit for that toward the certificate series?”
Yes, you can. You will need to provide the detailed course curriculum in an email to careersmart@austin.utexas.edu or call the Human Resource Service Center at 512-471-4772.
