How do I enroll in the new Supervisor/Manager Series classes?
For courses offered by Human Resource Services (HRS), the Office for Institutional Equity (OIE) and other classes found it TXClass, log into the “TxClass” Web site [EID Required]:
- Enter your EID and password;
- Click on “course offerings;
- Under “Search by Course Category” choose “Professional Development – CareerSmart Supervisor/Manager Series Level 1,” active courses, and you will see a list of the classes for level 1. For levels 2 and 3, choose that level in this menu;
- Click on the title of the course;
- Click on the “Start Date” for the class you want to attend;
- Scroll down to “Class Enrollment;” and
- Click on “Enroll/Withdraw yourself or others from this class.”
For other courses, follow the registration procedures listed for the specific course or contact the training partner who offers the course.
Can I see a list of the courses I have taken so I know what I need?
Yes, you need to log into the “TxClass” Web site [EID Required],
- Enter your EID and password,
- Click on “training history“
- Your training history will appear, including classes you have taken at the Professional Development Center.
I took a management class last year with the American Management Association. Can I get credit for that toward the certificate series?
Possibly. This type of class may count as an elective in Managing Beyond the Basics. Please discuss this with your 360˚ Feedback coach or contact CareerSmart for guidance.

I took “Managing@UT” can I get credit for that toward the new series?
Credit is not available; however, “Managing@UT” is equivalent to Management Essentials when certification is required or preferred.
The courses previously included in “Managing@UT” are revised periodically to include changes in law, policy, and practice. You may wish to attend these classes again for updated information.
Where can I get information about earlier programs such as “Managing@UT”, Transition to Management, Sharpening Management Skills, and Moving from Manager to Executive?
Please contact CareerSmart to obtain course requirements, to request a certificate, or for assistance in determining whether to complete a retired certificate or transition to a current program.
“Managing@UT”, a retired training program, is required in my department. Can I still get a certificate for it?”
Yes. Completion of CareerSmart Management Essentials is equivalent to “Managing@UT” when certification is required or preferred.
