Spread Too Thin? How to Manage Your Time Effectively

Course Details

“If only I had more time…” But it isn’t more time that the business owner necessarily needs, it’s better time-organization skills. The judicious use of time improves personal effectiveness and will show up in your business’ bottom line. Participants will learn step-by-step, focusing on specific techniques and methodology, how to take control of their time through planning the job, overcoming barriers that are always present, and properly using prioritization techniques.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Understand the goals of time management and priority management
  2. Identify priorities based upon importance and urgency
  3. Identify attitudes and techniques to help stay on track

Small Business Success Skills Certificate Program

This class is eligible for the Small Business Success Certificate Program. Participants who complete six classes will receive a framed gold seal Small Business Success Certificate jointly from both The University of Texas at Austin Professional Development Center and City of Austin Small Business Development Program.

Rationale

Understanding how to prioritize and manage time is essential for any small business owner. This course will enable students to apply learned concepts in identifying and applying time management techniques to their own business.
