Course Details

This course is Module 4 of the Medical Interpreter Training Seminar (MITS). This 10 hour course will substantially improve the ability to interpret effectively on behalf of Spanish-speaking patients. It will cover linguistic and culture aspects of medical interpreting that if not executed correctly could lead to loss of vital information and dire patient consequences. The course is divided into four modules to accommodate for various learning styles. Upon completing this course, participants will qualify to take the National Board for Certification of Medical Interpreters Exam.

Objective

Participants will practice methods and techniques of successful medical interpretation and receive expert feedback and coaching in the following modes.
