Course Details

This course is Module 2 of the Medical Interpreter Training Seminar (MITS). The course substantially improves the ability of participants to interpret effectively on behalf of Spanish-speaking patients. The course covers linguistic and cultural aspects of medical interpreting that, if not executed correctly, could lead to loss of vital information and dire patient consequences. The 40-hour curriculum is divided into four modules to accommodate various learning styles. Upon completing all four modules, participants are qualified to take the National Board for Certification of Medical Interpreters Exam.
