Financial advising has become a critical part of life planning. People need to make their money grow to reach their long-term goals. As pensions disappear, confidence in social security benefits decreases, longevity increases, and financial options grow more complex, people require more investment advice and sound financial guidance to plan and protect their financial futures. Financial planning is a profession that will continue to grow and offer many opportunities. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics continues to predict faster-than-average growth for financial planners through 2014. The most recent Jobs Rated Almanac ranked financial planning as one of the top-rated jobs in America.

Whether you’re currently employed in the financial services industry or want to pursue a career in this diverse and quickly changing profession, the UT Financial Planning Certificate Program will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to help clients meet their financial objectives. And, you will have completed the education portion of the CFP Board of Standards requirements for the CFP® certification. CFP® certification will make you more valuable to your clients and employers. Studies show that over a three-year period the average increase in pay in the year following certification is over 57 percent.
