Many organizations recognize the value of project management as an effective way to achieve business results. As the interest and demand for project management standardization increases, so does the demand for highly qualified project management practitioners.

The purpose of this course is to improve your knowledge and skills in project management and prepare you for the next step in your professional development. The course includes topics such as the life cycle of a project, project management processes, professional responsibility of a project manager, and, if you are planning to take the PMP® Certification Exam, this course will prepare you for the test. You will earn the project management education hours you need to qualify for PMI’s PMP® Certification Exam.

Each participant will receive a binder with comprehensive handouts covered in class, a copy of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) – Fourth Edition, and other appropriate study materials as identified by the instructor.

Additionally, participants will attend the Managing Projects managing projects successfully when working within the complex mix of tasks and people. Compare concepts presented in this workshop with how you currently manage projects. Improve your methods and share project management ideas and experiences with other professionals. Focus on the thought processes behind project management rather than on the specific use of a software package.

Leadership and Management Program

The Leadership and Management Program is a blend of online and classroom instruction. Classroom meetings reinforce online material and allow students to stay on track to completing the program. Additional online instruction in communication, leadership, and management supports the transition from military to civilian life.

Management professionals can gain the fundamental knowledge and critical MBA tools needed to compete and succeed in today’s fast-paced business world, but in a fraction of the time and cost of a traditional MBA degree. This "mini-MBA" concentrates the essential components of an MBA degree into an abbreviated, noncredit, online format.

Consider the advantages of this alternative:

  • Self-paced, open enrollment curriculum takes six to eight months to complete.
  • Delivered online so students can study when and where it's convenient.
  • A highly interactive format with video cases and many learning tools make it an exciting and effective way to learn.
  • No prior business degree nor admissions tests required (business/management experience is a prerequisite).

Experienced managers who need a broader understanding of all of the functions of business but cannot commit the time or money needed to earn an MBA will benefit from this program.

Typical student
The Certificate of Management is designed for business professionals who would benefit from a better understanding of the broad functions of business and management, and by acquiring familiarity with the essential assessment tools learned in an MBA. This noncredit executive education program does not require the challenging admissions criteria of an MBA program, takes months instead of years to complete and costs much less.

Certificate
Students are awarded the Certificate of Management upon completion of assignments and an earned aggregate grade of at least 70 percent. A letter of completion including grade results is included.
