Successful organizations align performance by connecting the work of HR to operations, not just to transactional activity. Yet aligning shared HR and operational goals to improve organizational performance is a perpetual challenge. The best decisions about HR priorities are based on accurate data and effective analysis combined with managerial experience and organizational culture.

HRCI Recertification of 6.5 hours and counts toward strategic credit hours.

There is no prerequisite for this course.

Who Should Attend

This workshop is recommended for experienced HR professionals.

Outcomes

In this workshop, participants will use their own organizational and HR budgets as well as strategic and operational plans to:

  • Identify and map key HR priorities based on the organization’s top priorities
  • Determine the significance of people costs in relation to organizational budget and expenditures
  • Map key HR work processes to organizational goals
  • Identify preferred HR top priorities using reverse engineering based on organizational goals
  • Identify the data most useful for HR decision making and managerial decision making
  • Select three HR initiatives likely to have the highest impact on the bottom line

Required

  • Before the workshop, participants need to ask their CEOs to name the three most important contributions HR can make to the organization in the coming year.
  • Participants should bring copies of their HR and organizational budgets, strategic plan, and annual performance goals – these will be used only by the individual participant and will not be shared.
  • Participants will receive a short pre-reading assignment to be completed prior to the session.
