Module 4: OIL & GAS LAW - Oil and Gas Law and its Impact on Land Practices

Land professionals must have an in-depth understanding of mineral laws and principles that affect drilling for oil and gas and how those principles are applied in the various states. Based on the Oil & Gas Law course taught in law school and on the Texas Bar Exam, this module focuses on the nature and characteristics of mineral interests, the rights and duties between surface and mineral owners, the implied covenants in the mineral lease, the Rule of Capture, and different kinds of royalty and mineral interests.
